The Latest Research in Back and Neck Pain

Last month I attended a conference of the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors and learned the latest in non-surgical care of patients with back and neck pain. Some key takeaways included:

Spine care in the US costs over 105 BILLION dollars.

Spinal fusion surgery rates have exploded from  61,000 in 1993 to over 450,000 in 2011.

Only 5.6 -7.5% of the population uses Chiropractic care.

Chiropractic spinal manipulation (adjustments) and specific exercise are the most effective treatment for back and neck pain. Better than over the counter drugs, opiods, surgery, epidural injections, and rest.
